Final Fantasy 14 patch 4.2, “Rise of a New Sun,” is on its way very soon, and the developers have rolled out another set of tantalizing updates to the patch’s website .

First we have Fashion Report, a new challenge coming to the Gold Saucer.

“A mysterious masked gentleman has come to the Gold Saucer and is issuing challenges─of the fashion variety. From combinations to colors, can you coordinate your way into his heart? Or will his barbed tongue leave your pride in shreds? Join heads with your fellow adventurers and strive for the heights of fine fashion!”

The mysterious masked man is of course none other than Redolent Rose, guildmaster of the Weaver’s Guild, because who else is better qualified to judge Eorzea’s Next Top Model?

Next are some great new mounts: a Magitek death claw from which you dangle helplessly above the Eorzean skies, a firey kamuy and a big ol’ griffin.

“Race across the skies swathed in divine winds on the auspicious kamuy, or unleash powerful buffets of air with the majestic true griffin. Your fellow adventurers are sure to be left dumbfounded when you arrive dangling from a magitek death claw.”

There’s no word yet on how these mounts will be obtainable or where they’ll drop.

Finally, the Bard action Performance has received three new tone sets: piano, lute and fiddle. The Bard still uses the harp model, but the musicians of Eorzea can enjoy triple their previous creative options with the new improved interface and instrument sounds.

“The bard action Performance receives a huge overhaul with an improved interface. New piano, lute, and fiddle tones allow for even more creative freedom!”

Of course, these content updates are just little, fun teases. We’re still waiting on information about Omega: Sigmascape, Forbidden Land, and more. An upcoming Letter from the Producer LIVE is scheduled for this Friday at 6 a.m. EST and can be watched via YouTube, NicoNico and Twitch. The Letter from the Producer LIVE should answer most of these questions and whet player appetite for Patch 4.2, which is due to drop at the end of the month.

Also in the latest Final Fantasy 14 news, Square Enix has levied account penalties against thousands of accounts for RMT, or Real Money Trading. Between Jan. 11 to Jan. 17, 2,492 accounts received a permanent ban and 68 received a temporary ban for participating in RMT. 1,744 accounts advertising RMT services received a permanent ban. RMT: Don’t Do It.

To report RMT and improve quality of life for all Eorzeans, hit right-click on the character's name in the chat log and hit Report → Report RMT Activity.

What content are you most looking forward to in Patch 4.2? Which mount are you aiming for? Are you pumped for Project Runway: Eorzea? Are you still thrilled over the Glamour Closets (and glad they’re no longer called Commodes)? Feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
