Far Cry Primal is certainly fun, but there are two heavily guarded forts that you must defeat if you want to unlock all of the weapons in the game. While they may sound tough to defeat, the forts are surprisingly easy if you know what you’re doing. These Far Cry Primal forts tips should help you get through them on your first try.

The first of these forts belongs to the Udam tribe and the second to the Izila tribe. Before going after the forts, make sure you are strong enough. Below are the skills I recommend having when it comes time for you to tackle the forts:

  • fully upgraded owl with the shortest cooldown timer

  • Heavy takedown

  • Upgraded spear

Izila Tribe

This fort is the one that is further south, and has a moat-like feature around it. To start, hide behind some rocks down outside the moat and call in your owl friend. This may take some time, so have your phone ready or some other easy distraction. One by one, take out all the Izila with the owl.

While you can take out most enemies, you’ll still be left with a Heavy enemy by the guard towers, a Heavy by the ramp up to the boss, two scouts up by the boss, and of course the boss herself.

Now comes the time for action. Move down to the moat and get yourself all the way to the mountain cliff to find an easy climbable spot into the fort. This will leave you in the village area, with many huts around. The first Heavy should be directly in front of you.

At this point, stealth up to him and use the Heavy takedown. Make sure to break any signal horns while you’re wandering around as well, in case you mess up.

From here, continue snaking back to get up the hill that the boss is on. Heavy takedown the last Heavy enemy here, and get up to the two scouts and the boss. Be sure to break the last horn up on this hill before attacking.

Once lined up, take out the scouts with throwing spears. This can be done stealthily, so take your time. When all that’s left is the boss, start chucking spears at her until her health bar drops to zero.

Udam Tribe

This fort is further north, and is surrounded on most sides by a big cliff. Use your claw to climb up the cliff side for the best stealth options.

Like the last fort, use the owl to scout out where all the enemies are, and kill the ones you can. This will take a while, but ensures you’ll have the easiest time possible with the fort.

Again, when all the weaker enemies are picked off, you’re left with two heavies and the boss. Snake into the fort and take down the heavies like last time, being sure not to be seen.

Unlike the last boss, this boss will wander around the camp. Be sure to keep an eye on his location, so you don’t wander into his line of sight on accident. Break all three horns before you start chucking spears at the boss.

Once both forts have been captured, you will have unlocked two new quest chains and two new weapons. Complete the quest chains to unlock more skills from your new captives.

So what do you think? Do you have a better strategy for taking out forts? Do you like to spam the owl as much as we do? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
