This is not a drill: JK Rowling is adding to the extended Harry Potter universe. Grab onto your comically inappropriate Muggle pants, because the upcoming Magic in North America series posts its first installment on Pottermore tomorrow.

First things first, here’s the trailer for JK Rowling’s upcoming Harry Potter short story series Magic in North America:

If you didn’t catch your breath at the Magic in North America trailer , I’m not sure what to tell you about your commitment to sparkle motion -- err, Harry Potter -- uhh, extended details of the expanded Harry Potter universe… look, it’s a cool trailer. And how often do short stories get their own trailers, huh?

Magic in North America , the brand-new, all-new, 100% brand new Harry Potter series directly from the sacred pen of JK Rowling, will launch on Pottermore exclusively. The announcement reads :

"The first installment of this exciting new series is called ’History of Magic in North America’ and will be published on Pottermore in four pieces, starting tomorrow at 2pm GMT.”

To break it down: so it’s a series all about North American wizards, which tragic American fans have begged and begged and begged for (all right, so it’s me, I’m the tragic American fan, sorry). The series is titled Magic in North America and while it has an unknown amount of installments, the first installment is titled “History of Magic in North America.” The first installment of this series will have four pieces. The first piece of “History of Magic in North America,” the first installment in the Magic in North America series, will post tomorrow at 9 AM.

Phew.

" Magic in North America will bring to light the history of this previously unexplored corner of the wizarding world in the run up to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them,” reads the announcement on Pottermore.

Finally, the trailer makes it clear that Magic in North America is intended as a build-up for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them , the latest Harry Potter movie starring Eddie Redmayne in the lead role of Newt Scamander. (It's going to be three movies, not just one.)

Are you excited for this expansion to the extensive lore of the Harry Potter universe? Because if you’re not, I’m excited enough for you, so it’s totally fine. Talk Potter to each other in the comments section below.
