On Thursday, Bethesda dropped its latest Fallout Shelter 1.5 update, bringing even more depth and customization features to the post-apocalyptic city building game. Among those changes came 3D Touch support, more outfits for dwellers, customizing options in the Barbershop and an interesting feature called scrapping.

In the previous Fallout Shelter 1.4 update, Bethesda introduced the ability to craft weapons and clothing out of junk found in the wilderness. Now they are taking crafting one step forward by allowing users to scrap excess weapons and outfits in their storage in hopes of getting junk needed for crafting. In the past users could earn caps from selling outfits and weapons they didn’t need, but the scrapping option makes for an interesting new look at what’s most valuable in the game. When you choose to craft weapons or clothing you have the opportunity to get more valuable rare or legendary items for your dwellers to wear and use.

We will soon be publishing an article with tips for scrapping, but in the meantime, we’ve offered a quick rundown of every new feature, outfit and customization we’ve noticed so far in the Fallout Shelter 1.5 update. Feel free to add others you’ve discovered in the comments below.

Scrapping – As mentioned above, you can now scrap extra weapons and outfits your don’t need for junk so you can do more crafting. Scrapping, however, is risky. You don’t always get something for scrapping. It appears to be luck of the draw at this point. There is an option to scrap several items at once but it isn’t recommended. Scrapping several items doesn’t appear to give you any advantage in terms of the junk you get back. Also, scrapping common items makes it far more likely to get nothing back, but scrapping rare or legendary appears to bring profit nearly every time.

New Outfits – 20 new outfits have been added in the new Fallout Shelter update including 12 common, 7 rare and 1 legendary. 10 of the outfits can be crafted, 10 can be obtained via a lunchbox. Here are the new outfits that can be crafted in the Fallout Shelter update 1.5
