Developer Falcom took to Twitter to announce that it’s currently looking for new talent to bring on board for a new title as well as sequels to its current games. According to the tweet, Falcom is looking to make “new RPGs, specifically new Ys and Trails titles.”

But that’s not all, as the tweet continued, via Japanese publication Hachima Kikou, “We want to launch new series. We have various motivations, but we are looking for people with the thought that ‘Falcom wants to put in effort to make games.” Falcom is currently hiring for several positions with that in mind, including programmers, graphic designers, game designers, sound creators, project designers, and other positions that don’t necessarily involve development work.

Developer Falcom has been around since 1982 and have created games that range from platforms to puzzlers. Falcom is best known for the Ys and Trails in the Sky series and its statement indicates the company plans to make more of these games. The long-running Ys series is just as iconic as The Legend of Heroes and Trails in the Sky games, which are must-play classics if you fancy yourself a JRPG fan.

The first entry in the Trails in the Sky series remains one of the most excellent RPG experiences you can currently have. Trails in the Sky started as a title within the Legend of Heroes series in 2004 that later spawned its own trilogy.

Trails in the Sky weaves a tale of two young aspiring Bracers, the problem-solvers and general do-gooders of the world of Liberl. The “are-they or aren’t-they” couple grow up together and participated in years of intensive training until it was time to finally join the ranks of real, honest-to-goodness Bracers. When dangerous mysteries that threaten Liberl, their way of life, and their entire world, it’s up to these young saviors to put their skills to the test and keep everyone safe from harm. It may feature plot devices you’ve heard many times over, but Trails in the Sky takes an old premise and makes it feel real.
