New details on Dragon Quest Heroes II are making the rounds this week, along with new DQH2 screens and the game’s first trailer. Now, we just wish someone at Square Enix would confirm plans to release Dragon Quest Heroes II in North America, so we can start getting hyped about the various changes being planned for the upcoming sequel.

We’re still waiting for Square Enix to confirm non-Japanese launch plans for Dragon Quest Heroes II; however, it seems the publisher has decided to identify some of the characters who will make their action-RPG debut in DQH2. Several party members from the first Dragon Quest Heroes will return in the sequel, including Kiryl and Maya, and they’ll be joined by a number of other popular characters from throughout the Dragon Quest timeline. In fact, this week’s DQH2 screens have confirmed the additions of Angelo (DQVIII), Carver (DQVI), Gabo (DQVII), Maribel (DQVII), Meena (DQIV) and Torneko(DQIV).

Elsewhere, a recent Square Enix live stream confirmed Dragon Quest Heroes II will include multiplayer support, allowing up to four players to fight their way through the game’s campaign and/or a series of multiplayer-only dungeons designed exclusively for Dragon Quest Heroes II. At launch, only one such dungeon (Space-Time Labyrinth) will be available to the DQH2 community; however, Square Enix says fans can expect additional multiplayer dungeons to be included in the game’s post-launch DLC.

If you haven’t already, take a couple of minutes to check out the game’s first trailer. Then head down to the comments section and let us know whether or not you’re interested in seeing the upcoming sequel to Dragon Quest Heroes released in North America.

Dragon Quest Heroes II is being developed for PlayStation 3, PS4 and PS Vita. The game is scheduled to hit Japanese retailers on May 27. There’s currently no word on a North American debut.
