'Dishonored 2' New Game Plus Mode Now Available, Should Make Custom Difficulty Much More Awesome

Just a month after Dishonored 2 ’s release on Xbox One, PS4 and PC, New Game Plus mode is now available. The free update tweaks a number of issues such as slow-motion input controls, enhancements to Blood Thirst and more.

The mode lets you replay Dishonored 2 accessing both Corvo and Emily’s abilities, using any Bonecharm traits or Runes discovered in your first playthrough. The Runes may be reassigned as players wish. Accessing both Corvo and Emily’s abilities also unlocks an all-new variety of combos.

“With this new mode, you’ll be able to combine Emily’s Mesmerize with Corvo’s Devouring Swarm – or create any other custom combo of multiple powers that you can you imagine,” wrote global content lead Gary Steinman in a post on the Bethesda blog.

Notably, learned bonecharm traits carry over while raw whale bones and held bonecharms don’t, so you should break down your bonecharms before ending your game. Also, unassigned runes won’t carry over. You get access to your assigned runes at the start of mission 2.

PC players are recommended to use the following drivers ( via Steam ):

Recommended drivers:

NVIDIA driver 375.95

We have identified an issue with drivers 375.70 & 375.86 unique to Dishonored 2 which impacts performance. If not already, we strongly advise updating to driver 375.95.

AMD driver 16.11.4

This free update includes New Game Plus Mode, but the ability to replay specific levels won’t arrive until January ’s free update. The second free update will also provide custom difficulty settings. New Game Plus mode stacks, so you can keep playing New Games until you’ve maxed out all abilities. Sounds like the perfect excuse to take custom difficulty settings out for a whirl.
