Digimon World: Next Order is an incredibly complicated game. Balancing your Digimon’s moods, stats all while keeping a close eye on the clock, can be a bit overwhelming. My job is to make going on adventures with your two partners just a bit easier. Here’s a quick guide for one of the most complicated and impactful ways to augment your trainer, Tamer Skills.

What Are The Best Tamer Skills?

Tamer Skills can be accessed in the main menu under “Tamer.” Every time you level up your tamer, you get 3 Tamer Points. Use these points to purchase upgrades on the skill tree in one of four categories: basic, trainer, survivor and commander. In the beginning, I’d recommend ignoring survivor and focusing on getting these game-changing skills.

Defense Order (Commander): The battle system of DW: NO takes getting used to, especially when you have no way to protect yourself. Unlocking this skill is a priority; it allows you to tell your Digimon to block 90 percent of all incoming damage for a few a seconds for a measly 10 battle points.

Second Order (Commander): If you want your Digimon to deal more damage, it’s going to need more attacks. Unlocking this Tamer Skill allows your Digimon to have a second attack that it will so desperately need later in the game.

Digiegg Polish (Basic): Once you’ve complete chapter one, your Digimon will be able to die and reincarnate. With this skill, you gain one level or parameter inheritance, which just means more stats from rebirth.

Skill Observation (Commander): In DW: NO you gain stats by fighting enemy Digimon. With this skill, you gain more points in those stats from these battles. It’s really good, get it ASAP.

These are the skills you need to get before anything else if you want to have an easier time in Digimon World: Next Order . Once these are filled, focus on putting points into the inheritance, training and bonus life skills.
