Getting Rat King In Destiny 2 Is Surprisingly Easy

The hunt for powerful, new, exotic weaponry is officially underway in Destiny 2. The game has been out long for enough for some fans to complete the main story and begin hunting for the shared-world shooter’s best secrets. And for many fans, that hunt begins with acquisition of a hand cannon called Rat King.

Exotics can be acquired many ways in Destiny 2. They occasionally appear as drops, if you’re absurdly lucky, or earned as quest rewards (more frequently than we saw in the first Destiny). There are also several that have their own quests. Some, like Rat King, even include their own puzzles and riddles that must be solved by the community to make any progress. Fortunately, for anyone in need of a new hand cannon, the Destiny 2 community has already mastered the process of acquiring the Rat King. You'll need find a few friends to play with and finish the Destiny 2 campaign.

Here’s everything you need to do to claim Rat King for yourself:

  • Step 1: Finish the Destiny 2 campaign

  • Step 2: Finish all remaining quests on Titan

  • Step 3: Complete three Patrol missions with a full fireteam

  • Step 4: Finish 2 public events (w/ team)

  • Step 5: Complete 2 Crucible matches or 2 Strikes (w/ team)

  • Step 6: Complete a "Prism" Nightfall with at least five minutes still on the clock

  • Step 7: Go kill bad guys with your new Rat King hand cannon
