New snippets of information on the first year of Destiny 2 DLC have come to light this week, thanks to a team of data miners who dove into the PC port and released their findings on the game’s subreddit. There are still many secrets left to uncover when the Osiris and Rasputin-focused expansions go live, but it sounds like a plethora of familiar people and places will factor into Destiny 2’s ongoing narrative.

The data dumps began on Tuesday morning, shortly after Destiny 2 was unlocked on Battle.net, and have continued in the hour since. Players have uncovered vocal references to the most significant locales from Destiny 1, including the Dreadnaught, Earth's Cosmodrome, the Moon's Hellmouth and the Reef (among other destinations). There are numerous references to Osiris and the Lighthouse, along with new locations we’ll let you spoil for yourself (if interested). Some of the dialogue even suggests we’ll return to D1 destinations in upcoming Destiny 2 DLC. There’s a new Fallen house, a returning Rise of Iron NPC and it sounds like humanity’s war against the Red Legion might not be over. And that’s just the beginning of the content uncovered in Destiny 2’s first 24 hours on PC.

It’s not all good news for the PC crowd, though. Hundreds of Destiny 2 users claim they’re being banned from Battle.net over third-party software that has no impact on gameplay. One of the game’s community managers and a PC project lead denied the claims, saying apps with screen overlays, like Discord or Open Broadcast Software, can occasionally prevent D2 from opening, but won’t lead to a ban. Cozmo stops short of calling anyone a liar or cheat, but his response suggests Bungie is confident the community’s initial assumptions about the ban (re: other apps) are wrong. That leaves us with more questions than answers; a fact that has to be frustrating for anyone who waited an extra six weeks for Destiny 2, only to find themselves locked out of the game now that it’s here.

Destiny 2 is currently available on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
