There were a lot of great things about Luke Cage, and Mike Colter and Rosario Dawson’s chemistry was certainly one of the many high points. First Jessica Jones, then Misty Knight, but it’s Claire Temple who seems to have stolen the big guy’s heart. We’ll next see both of them on screen together in The Defenders, set to release sometime in 2017 after Iron Fist, but it appears things have already got steamy on set. Mike Colter and Rosario Dawson were spotted in the midst of a serious makeout session up against a fence in New York City on Nov. 18. The two shared a kiss at the end of Luke Cage Season 1, but it was unclear in what capacity their romance would continue moving forward into The Defenders, especially considering his ex, Jessica Jones, is part of the team. The two definitely have some messy history to hash out after the events of Jessica Jones Season 1.

These set photos come after a Defenders teaser and the official casting announcements for Karen Page and Misty Knight earlier this month. Colleen Wing, Elektra, Trish Walker, Foggy Nelson, Jeri Hogarth and Malcolm (Jessica Jones' neighbor) have also joined The Defenders cast. Sigourney Weaver was announced as The Defenders villain at New York Comic Con.

“Those who surround us define us,” is displayed at the end of the short teaser. The sentiment is reminiscent of the last Defenders teaser where Stick, Daredevil’s childhood mentor, jokes about the four heroes being able to save New York. “You think the four of you can save New York? You can’t even save yourselves,” he says.

Stick has a valid point there. As far as we know, Luke Cage is back behind bars. Jessica Jones is recovering from Kilgrave. Daredevil still has The Hand to deal with and Elektra is about to be resurrected to fulfill her destiny as The Black Sky. Iron Fist is currently running around New York barefoot… this team up isn’t looking too promising so far. However, it has been revealed The Hand is also the villain in Iron Fist, so it looks like Danny Rand could clean up what Daredevil started. Possibly even a crossover there?
