Attention Hideo Kojima fans: more Death Stranding news is slated for early next year. Not that it will help you get any closer to figuring out what the game is about, but we’ll take all the clues we can can get.

Kojima spoke to Dengeki PlayStation (via Silicon Era ) about the game’s development for a year-end wrap up article. Kojima told the publication, “Things are going smoothly enough to the point Sony Interactive Entertainment said, ‘We’ve never seen a game be made at such a fast pace,’ about Death Stranding ’s development. We plan to announce something that will surprise everyone in 2018.”

It’s highly unlikely the announcement will be a release date as Kojima is known to take his time on development. He’s also admitted he’s paranoid about details of the game leaking online before he’s had a chance to finalize everything.

Since Kojima likes to be in control of all aspects of the project, what we’re likely to see in 2018 is possibly another teaser video that continues to reveal particular elements of the game. The Death Stranding teaser thus far have revealed Norman Reedus’ character is quite possibly pregnant with an alien baby. Just check it out for yourself in the video below.

The teaser remained true to Kojima’s comments about the game during an E3 2017 Coliseum Q&A session hosted by Geoff Keighley. Kojima shared the reaction he received after he pitched Death Stranding to his team and it’s a good thing his team trust in his vision, otherwise we’d never would’ve seen a naked Reedus.

“Every time I come up with a plan, I explain what I'm thinking for the game mechanics,” Kojima told the E3 crowd . “The first people I explain this to is my team. For Death Stranding , I started explaining a year ago what I wanted to make. No one got it! Because I was trying to make something new and different. I personally think that if people are opposed to you, then you're on the right track. That's game making for me."

You could watch the Death Stranding teasers hundreds of times and still get no where. Even the subreddit theories about the game are getting weirdly introspective . Death Stranding is in development by Sony and will be exclusively released to the PS4.
