Call Of Duty: WWII begins its PS4 Private Beta on Aug. 25, so MacKenzie Bates of Sledgehammer Games took to the PlayStation Blog to get fans excited. Each of the game’s five Divisions will be available in the beta. Here’s your list of choices and the special abilities each division offers.

Armored Division: Soldiers specialize in laying down a strong offense to buy their team breathing room. Has a bipod-equipped light machine gun with armor to protect them from enemy explosives, tacticals and flamethrowers. They also carry an Anti-Tank Grenade sticky bomb.

  • Division Skill: LMG Bipod III - A machine gun that can be mounted on ledges or used when prone
  • Division Training: Armored III - Immune to Shell Shock and Tactical Equipment. Take less fire and explosive damage.

Mountain Division: This is the sniper division, perfect for covert and stealth gameplay. Additional equipment includes smoke grenades and the S-Mine 44 “Bouncing Betty.”

  • Division Skill : Sniper Sharpshooter III - Block out your surroundings and in return acquire aim assist and enemy names while holding breath.
  • Division Training : Mountain III - Invisible to enemy Recon Aircraft while moving. Hidden to player-controlled Streaks, Quieter movement.

Airborne Division: Parachute in and be the first to fight. This division focuses on the element of speed to surprise their enemies. Airborne soldiers use suppressive SMGs to take and hold enemy positions until Armored troops arrive.

  • SMG Suppressor III: Hides muzzle flash and prevents gunfire from appearing on enemy mini-maps, but reduces range of weapon.
  • Division Training: Airborne III - Sprint for longer distances. Climb over obstacles faster. Increased sprint speed.

Expeditionary Division: This demolition unit specializes in explosives and tactical equipment used for infiltration and close-quarters combat.

  • Division Skill: Shotgun Incendiary Shells III - Shotgun shells that spark flames and burn enemies.
  • Division Training: Expeditionary III - Get a piece of Tactical and Lethal Equipment. Throw equipment faster, farther and while sprinting. Resupply equipment from killed enemies.

Infantry Division: This classic division specializes in all-around combat and boasts superior marksmanship. The bayonet makes them a threat at all ranges.

  • Division Skill: Rifle Bayonet III - Allows for long-range attacks.
  • Division Training: Infantry III - Additional attachment on Primary, extra magazines, move faster while ADS.

While there’s a lot we still don’t know about how Divisions work in a multiplayer setting, conventional wisdom suggests Division Training is a substitute for a perk that can be used anywhere. The Division Skills appear to be exclusive per Division. In other words, It should be possible to play as an Airborne with the Infantry III training. One thing that remains unclear, however, is whether players can use Shotguns as a secondary weapon. Currently, the shotgun primary is tied to the Expeditionary Division. We’ll likely learn more as the beta dates approach.

Call Of Duty: WWII ’s Private Beta begins Aug. 25 on PS4 and Sept. 1 on Xbox One. PS4 players who pre-order the game will be able to enjoy the beta through both weekends. The full game releases on PS4, Xbox One and PC Nov. 3. Click here for the known list of weapons and Scorestreaks.
