All Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II players out there, listen up! The game’s first competitive season has begun and it features tons of new content, including an assortment of new weapons and a new and improved Battle Pass.
Say Hello to the New Battle Pass
When opening up the Battle Pass menu, players will be greeted with an entirely new interface. Rather than being presented with the usual horizontal strip of tiered content, the new and improved Battle Pass showcases a large-scale map with different “Combat Sectors” from A0 to A20.
A new type of currency called the Battle Token Tier Skip is needed to unlock the “High-Value Targets” or valuable items contained within each sector. This can be acquired just by playing the game.
Eliminate the Enemy with These New Devastating Guns
Call of Duty is all about those guns and the good news is that there are three new weapons introduced in the Season 01 patch, with one more arriving in the midseason.
The first on the list is the Victus XMR - a hard-hitting, bolt-action sniper rifle armed with .50 caliber BMG (Browning Machine Gun) rounds. This powerful sniper rifle can take out enemies over long distances, though players would have to hit precise shots for maximum effect.
Those who prefer a more aggressive combat style might want to get their hands on the new BAS-P. This is a submachine gun capable of eliminating enemies in mere seconds, thanks to its aggressive fire rate.
Of course, there’s something for the AR fans out there as well. The M13B is the latest assault rifle introduced in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II. Its incredible fire rate coupled with a low recoil makes this AR quite an appealing option for most people.
The last of the bunch is the Chimera Assault Rifle. This AR is equipped with high-energy .300 BLK rounds and an integrated suppressor, making it ideal for close-quarters combat. Players will have to wait for the mid-season patch for this one, though.
The Season 01 patch implements balancing changes to existing weapons as well. Here are some of them:
- Increased long-distance flinch on all Assault Rifles
- Kastov 545
- ADS speed increase
- Improved ironsight ADS sight picture
- M16
- Rate of fire increase
- Hip spread reduction
- Recoil recenter speed increase
