Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare DLC 3 is coming soon, and it’s called Absolution. Its Zombies chapter, Attack Of The Radioactive Thing, sounds like an homage to ‘60s monster films. Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now.

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare update 1.20 released Wednesday evening, and it brings a few minor fixes, key weapon balance changes and slight adjustments to Infected mode to make it more enjoyable. Read the full patch notes below.

General Fixes

  • Infected: Reduced the move speed of the infected as the number of those infected increases (every three players that get infected will reduce the move speed and only takes effect on spawn)
  • Added the Stallion .44, Atlas, G-Rail, and Raijin-EMX to Gun Game
  • Exploit fixes across various maps
  • Various backend bug fixes
  • VPR: Hip fire kick has been increased to help make it perform in line with other SMGs
  • R3K: Burst cooldowns have been decreased to help it compete better with other ARs

The major things to note here are the nerfs. Starting with Infected, the mode will feel much more balanced when it’s worked into playlists because those infected won’t have as much of a speed advantage as the match carries on. Based on what we’ve seen online, it makes a ton of sense to adjust quickness as the number of infected goes up. With fewer standard players on the map, it was obvious how overwhelming the opposite side became. Now the match’s final moments will be determined by the shooter’s overall skill, as opposed to an artificial buff.

As for weapons, we’re glad to see the VPR finally getting its much needed nerf. It’s been part of the Infinite Warfare stable since shortly after launch, and its unlock challenge is simple enough to make the gun a common choice. Its insane hip fire stats made it pretty overpowered, though, so it’s nice to see that grievance being addressed. Speaking of early-game weapons, the R3K getting some love is hardly a bad thing. With Infinity Ward adding so many weapons being constantly added to the game, this one’s not being used enough. Hopefully this buff will make it more effective in the new meta.

This Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare update arrives days after the reveal of the game’s fourth and final DLC expansion called Retribution. Keeping with Call Of Duty tradition, the season pass download offers four multiplayer maps and a new Zombies chapter. This time around, The Beast From Beyond takes co-op to the far reaches of space. Might it be the Extinction followup fans have been clamoring for?

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

‘Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare’ Review: The Shooter To Skip This Holiday Season
The rise of new properties, like Titanfall and Overwatch, combined with resurgent properties, like Destiny or Battlefield, make it hard to justify the shrinking number of new ideas in Call of Duty. Those who purchased Infinite Warfare on day one may not relate to anything in this article. But those with less fondness for the franchise, or just expecting COD:IW to at least match the quality of Advanced Warfare or Black Ops 3, should probably turn their attention elsewhere.
  • Cool weapons
  • A decent campaign story
  • Zombies is as fun and weird as ever
  • Multiplayer is too much of a grind for good weapons
  • There's not much originality in the entire package.
