Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare multiplayer is getting some significant boosts this weekend from a double XP event and a limited Mayhem multiplayer playlist. According to tweets from Infinity Ward, both promotions are set to go live at 1 p.m. ET today. Double XP ends on Feb. 21, and Mayhem ceases Feb. 24.

As noted in the tweet below, the Mayhem playlist is essentially a traditional team deathmatch server. The added twist, however, is that all Scorestreak progress continues even after the player dies. The advantage of that is pretty obvious. Because Scorestreaks will persist after perish, you’ll be seeing many more drone and air-drop rewards in play. Combined with double XP, players should be leveling up or reaching prestige very quickly over the next few days. A tiny playlist update was dispatched Thursday to prepare for the events.

Promotions like these have essentially become a weekly thing in the Infinite Warfare multiplayer or Zombies scenes, but the specific rewards differ slightly with each one.

With Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare struggling compared to previous franchise efforts, its developers at Infinity Ward are doing as much as possible to keep the game’s community engaged. Earlier this week, the 1.09 title update finally added Combat Records to the experience.

While pushing forward with Infinite Warfare remains a priority, Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg has already started to drum up hype for 2017’s installment. Developed by Modern Warfare’s Sledgehammer Games the upcoming title is described as a “return to roots” for the franchise, with boots-on-the-ground combat taking center stage.

Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
