Almost a month after its release, the first software patch for the Nintendo Switch and Wii U versions of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is now live improving the overall game’s performance.

The official Breath of the Wild version 1.1.1 patch notes state “ adjustments have been made to make for a more pleasant gaming experience.” While this is very vague, many players are reporting that the framerates in certain areas in Breath of the Wild have been stabilized.

Areas like the Korok Forest, which were plagued by framerate issues, are seemingly running much smoother than when the game first released.

To download the Breath of the Wild patch, follow these steps:

  1. Connect the Nintendo Switch console to the Internet.

  2. Return to the HOME Menu and launch the game.

  3. The update will be downloaded and installed automatically.

  4. Once the update is installed, the newest version number will be displayed on the title screen.

Korok Forest is the area where players can find the Master Sword and increase their inventory slots after collecting enough Korok Seeds in Breath of the Wild. There are also a bunch of other sidequests, shops and more inside the Korko Forest so this framerate improvement will help players do everything they want to do without the lag.

So what do you think of the first patch for Breath of the Wild ? What else do you hope gets an improvement in future updates? Sound off in the comments section below.
