Bayonetta fans may have something to look forward to, possibly even a release of Bayonetta 3 for Nintendo Switch, if theories about the recent activity on the Platinum Games YouTube account prove correct.

Platinum Games has published 5 clips to YouTube featuring footage from Bayonetta 1 and 2 . Each of the clips loops 3 times. Cue X-Files theme song here. Check them out below:

The Bayonetta franchise is currently riding a wave of positive buzz thanks to the recent PC port of the original game, which sits at a “Very Positive” rating on Steam after more than two thousand reviews.

While Bayonetta 2 was a Wii U exclusive, which makes it quite unlikely that the game will come to any non-Nintendo platform, there’s still hope that Bayonetta 2 might get ported to the Nintendo Switch. If a third Bayonetta really is in the works, it too could arrive on Nintendo’s new console.

In an interview with the U.K’s Metro during E3 2016, Platinum Games’ director Hideki Kamiya said "Of course we want to make 3 , why should it end at 2 ?" when asked about a third Bayonetta game, so it seems probable that all these sly snippets from Platinum Games are leading to some form of announcement after all.

Do you think Platinum Games is teasing Bayonetta 3 in order to get that rumor mill churning before E3? Feel free to speculate about Bayonetta 3 after the jump.
