The Banner Saga 3 is getting another wave of funding, on top of the game’s ongoing Kickstarter campaign, thanks to a new cross-promotional endeavor between Stoic Studio and Twitch. And the new deal will benefit Twitch Prime users as much as the Banner Saga 3 devs or the popular streaming company...at least in the short term.

Banner Saga fans still have 11 days left to contribute to The Banner Saga 3 Kickstarter, which blew past its $200K goal earlier this month, but Stoic wasn’t about to wait for its successful crowdfunding campaign to conclude before securing additional resources. The studio announced a new partnership with Twitch this week, a pairing that will yield free games for Twitch Prime subscribers and some extra cash for the Banner Saga 3 team. And all the companies want in return is for the Twitch community to download and play some free (and great) games.

For every player who downloads The Banner Saga (or TBS2), Twitch will contribute an additional $1 to development of the last game in the series. Prime users can download The Banner Saga today but the game will only remain available until Feb. 28. So we’d suggest downloading the game ASAP if you’re interested in a free copy. Twitch says The Banner Saga 2 will be released to Prime users on March 2 before being pulled on March 6. Stoic is also preparing a small set of in-game items that will be distributed to promotion participants when The Banner Saga 3 debuts next year. Additional information, including download instructions, can be found on Twitch’s blog.

The Banner Saga 3 is in development for PC and Mac. Stoic expects to release TBS3 by the end of December 2018. There’s no word on a console launch at this time.
