Avengers: Infinity War Producer Confirms Loki Is A Little Shit

If you had any hope Loki didn’t steal the Tesseract for Thanos in Thor: Ragnarok, you’ve been fooled by the Asgardian scoundrel once again. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige confirmed at a Comic Con in Brazil that Loki will act as the Mad Titan’s ally in Avengers: Infinity War.

If you didn’t stay for the Thor: Ragnarok post-credits scene showing Thanos’ Sanctuary II vessel approaching the Asgardian refugee spaceship, the implication of Loki’s allegiance was easy to miss. Earlier in the film, before Hela and Asgard’s demise, Loki went into Odin’s trophy room vault to place the Crown of Surtur on The Eternal Flame. In doing so, he passed the Tesseract, which houses the Space Stone. He then returns to the large arc ship safe and sound.

There were only two reasons Loki would save the space stone. It’s either for his own agenda or Thanos’ agenda. Considering 2012’s Avengers revealed he’s already made deals with Thanos, it was a safe bet he stole Tesseract for the latter reason.

In the first Avengers film, Thanos granted Loki the scepter that housed the Mind Stone (which he used to kill Phil Coulson). Loki then captured the Tesseract from SHIELD and used the stone to summon the Chitauri and conquer the Earth. The Chitauri invasion and the Battle Of New York ensued. While The Avengers were able to stop him, it’s clear his deal with Thanos is still alive.

Thor brought the Tesseract back to Asgard (where it remained until the events of Ragnarok) and the Scepter made its rounds from SHIELD to Hydra to Tony Stark to Ultron, who then placed the stone in a synthetic body that would then become the sentient android, Vision. The Mind Stone still rests on Vision’s forehead.

Since Loki lost the Mind Stone and the Space Stone for Thanos, it’s no surprise he’s working with him again. Whether it’s because he’s scared shitless, or actually wants to rule with Thanos remains to be seen.
