The music in Atlanta episode 9, “Junteenth,” was a change of pace. Instead of the usual mix between trap and alternative classics, piano sonatas, gospel and soft jazz played in the background as Van and Earn attended the bougiest party ever. The evening was doomed from the start as soon as Van picked up Earn at the house of a girl he just had a one-night stand with. The party doesn't go so well and the two get kicked out after the host, Monique, finds out Earn is Paper Boi's manager.

The episode featured two songs from Kamasi Washington, a virtuoso saxophonist who worked with Kendrick Lamar on the Grammy award-winning album To Pimp A Butterfly.

Kamasi Washington - 'The Rhythm Changes'

Belmont Silvertone Jubilee Singers- ‘Wade In The Water & Be Baptised’

Kamasi Washington - 'Change of the Guard'

James Cleveland - ‘Save Me Lord’

Sam Cooke - ‘Chain Gang’

Some of the background music playing during the party is hard to identity. The internet recognizes one of those songs as ‘The Entertainer’ by Jack Trombey, but there’s no way to be sure. Let us know if you have a link to the song in the comments below!
