As far as video game movie adaptations go, Assassin’s Creed might actually be the first good one.

The latest trailer for the Assassin’s Creed shows off the Animus, which looks nothing like the Lazy Boy recliner we’ve seen the in the video games. And actress Marion Cotillard whispering the words, “You no longer exist,” to Michael Fassbender’s character will give you chills.

Assassin’s Creed stars Fassbender as Callum Lynch , a man whose bloodlines tie him to an assassin named Aguilar from the Spanish Inquisition. No other information about the Assassin’s Creed plot has been released, but we do know fans will see some familiar faces from the video game.

Tim Wildgoose, production armorer for the Assassin’s Creed movie, spoke to Entertainment Weekly back in August about creating Aguilar’s armor. Wildgoose confirmed fans will get to see past video game characters in the movie.

“They’re not main characters from the games, but they’re very famous characters that the fans will probably enjoy,” Wildgoose told EW .

Unfortunately, those characters won’t be people like Desmond, Ezio or Altair. Still, there’s hope for this movie, since it seems like the production isn’t following the confusing present-day storyline from the video games. We really hope Juno doesn’t pop up and the film creates a world inspired by the video game rather than bringing it to life. Video game storylines don’t always translate well on the big screen.

Remember Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia movie starring Jake Gyllenhall? Yeah, we do too. It was bad. Very bad. Just look at the reviews if you need a refresher.
