Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp will update next month to add gardening and clothing crafting Nintendo

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp gets an update next month that adds gardening, the ability to craft clothes and more. This information comes from the official Animal Crossing UK Twitter feed.

We don’t know when Nintendo will make the the update available, but the tweet above, from the Animal Crossing UK official account, says the patch will release next month. A new in-game event has started, dubbed Friend Frenzy, so there’s some added challenge to carry you over to the new year and the next update. This challenge requires players to make as many friends as possible.

Along with the gardening and clothes crafting, the tweet also teases Animal Crossing favorite Rover the cat. Rover is typically the first character you meet in Animal Crossing games and acts as an introduction to your new home, as well as helping set up your new character’s gender, name and the name of your new town. It’s unclear if Rover will have a bigger impact on Pocket Camp aside from being another animal to meet and befriend.

Clothes crafting will be similar to crafting furniture, with players calling Mabel instead of Cyrus. Once the update is available, players can craft tops, shoes, pants and other accessories. Expect to see some new collectible resources as well to use when crafting clothing.

Gardening is the biggest mystery of the update. The tweet above shows players will be able to create gardens filled with flowers. It’s unclear if these flowers will have any gameplay significance, or if it’s just another option to decorate your campsite. Players will have to water flowers to ensure they don’t wither and die, and can also water the flowers of a friend’s garden, according to Engadget.

Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp is now available to download for iOS and Android smart devices. The clothes crafting and gardening update will release for both platforms some time in January.
