American Horror Story’ s Season 6 theme has been a closely guarded secret amongst FX executives and the AHS showrunners and cast; however, details about the upcoming anthology may have already surfaced. Fans should likely expect American Horror Story: The Mist to premiere Sept. 14 at 10 p.m.

Several sources have shared information indicating AHS Season 6 will be entitled The Mist. The Wrap discovered a new American Horror Story series page on Rotten Tomatoes Thursday, which included the season name. The page has since been updated with the subtitle removed.

Entertainment Weekly also shared an image, originally posted to reddit, of a TV Guide listing, which included American Horror Story: The Mist among other shows, which will supposedly air in September.

Additionally, several fans have discovered the season name by accessing the Sept. 14 listing for FX on their cable subscriptions.

All of this evidence suggesting the American Horror Story name seems pretty convincing; however, viewers won’t get any confirmation from the powers that be until Sept. 14.

So far, all we know for certain is that the Season 6 theme is hidden among one of over 20 American Horror Story trailers released in recent weeks. According to FX CEO John Landgraf, only one of the trailers coincides with the Season 6 theme.

iDigitalTimes suggested Thursday that a promo aptly named “The Mist” might be related to the American Horror Story Season 6 theme. This trailer and another called “Sunset Stroll” stood out due to the fact that they include creatures with illuminated eyes. We also noted in another trailer called “Anthology,” which lists the previous five chronologically, followed by several clips from Season 6 trailers. Notably, the clip for “The Mist” shows up first.

Meanwhile, American Horror Story star Evan Peters recently gave The Wrap the tiniest of details, revealing that his new red hair color was not his choice. It is possible, as rumors have suggested that Peters had to dye his hair for his American Horror Story role. Despite the fact that the Season 6 premiere is less than two weeks away, the actor insists he does not know the theme of the show.
